As members of LMC alumni we have
received a great undergraduate degree. Continuing that education is
just as important if not more important to continue on along the path of
success. Many members go on to acquire a masters degree and some
pursue new career options. Below are some master degree programs and
information:
Types of MBA’s:
One Year Full Time MBA (Strict prerequisites with work background or academic training)
Length: 11 to 16 months, shortened by reducing the time in core classes or limiting opportunities to
specialize
Advantages: Career enhancers who wish to continue in the same job function
or industry but at a higher level – A very specialized program can save you
time and you may be able to customize
Limitations: Internship opportunities are limited, some employers may not
consider a one year program a favorable option for a Masters
Two Year
Full Time MBA (4 semesters long with a three or four month break for an internship. First
year is core classes and the second year allows for functional
specialization.)
Advantages: Provide an opportunity to develop knowledge in a specific
discipline, leading to new job skills and prospects.
Limitations: Very expensive and time consuming.
Advise: Be confident about what you wish to do in the future and willing to
commit time and resources. Be ready to spend an extended period of time out
of the workforce and have the resources to pay. You should also have well
defined career goals.
