Logistics Management Council Mentoring Program:

Purpose:

To provide students with help regarding their professional development as logisticians.

Participants:

Mentors:  LMC Alumni with two or more years of experience.

Mentees:  Current LMC students.

Content:

A shadow day or a face-to-face meeting if possible.

Provide some insights into corporate culture and politics.

Career development guidance regarding software, volunteer work, communication skills, and other skills that should be developed prior to entering the workforce.

Resume and cover letter critiques.

Process:

Mentors will be assigned mentees by the LMC Advisor with input from the current LMC President.

Shortly after assignment, mentors and mentees will be asked to exchange resumes.

The mentoring assignment will end when the LMC student graduates.  However, at the end of one year both mentor and mentee will be asked if they wish to continue the relationship.
